We're Hiring: Chef / Cook – Part-Time

Neighbourhood is here — Preston's newest coffee and brunch spot built for the community. We're now looking for a Chef (or experienced cook) to help us bring our food vision to life.

If you love working with local quality ingredients, enjoy building simple but delicious plates, and thrive in a positive, independent kitchen environment — this could be your next move.

About the Role

You'll be preparing our brunch menu, focaccia sandwiches, and fresh bagels — keeping it simple, seasonal, and consistently tasty. Our kitchen is small and open, so every role is hands-on, with a focus on quality and calm, organised service.

You'll be:

  • Preparing and plating dishes to order, focusing on consistency and presentation
  • Managing prep and kitchen organisation with care and efficiency
  • Working closely with the owners and baristas to ensure smooth service
  • Keeping things clean, safe, and up to standard
  • Helping shape and refine the menu as we grow

We're Looking For

  • Experience in a similar café, brunch kitchen or small restaurant
  • Confidence working solo or with one other during quieter services
  • A good understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene
  • A calm, positive attitude and pride in the plates you serve
  • An interest in seasonal ingredients and simple, flavour-led food
