Business Sales Executive

We are seeking Sales Executive to join our growing team at Ornate Rugs Ltd.
This role requires a motivated, customer-focused individual with a passion for design, craftsmanship, and interiors. The successful candidate will combine strong product knowledge with excellent sales and communication skills to help clients select or create handmade rugs that suit their individual needs.
The position involves managing client relationships, advising on product options and customisations, and supporting the company's continued growth through a consultative and service-led sales approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with clients to understand their needs and recommend suitable handmade rugs.
- Provide detailed information about rug origin, weaving techniques, materials, knot density, colours, and after-care.
- Advise customers on rug suitability for different interiors, including colour schemes, fibres, sizing, and design coordination.
- Explain the full production journey of each handmade rug — from wool selection and dyeing to weaving and finishing.
- Offer guidance on maintenance, cleaning, and long-term care of rugs.
- Follow up with clients after sales to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
- Promote and sell additional services such as bespoke rug design, rug restoration, and cleaning.
- Maintain accurate sales and customer records using CRM systems.
- Research and engage potential B2B clients to expand Ornate Rugs' trade network nationally and internationally.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with interior designers, architects, and luxury retailers.
- Participate in marketing activities, exhibitions, and trade shows.
- Communicate effectively with overseas suppliers and artisan producers regarding custom designs and production schedules.
- Provide feedback to design and production teams on customer preferences and emerging trends.
What We're Looking For
- A confident, approachable personality with excellent communication skills.
- A passion for design, interiors, or handcrafted products.
- Previous sales experience, preferably in carpets or handmade rugs.
- Strong ability to build relationships and provide tailored, design-led advice.
- Organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Competence in using computer and CRM systems.
- A proactive, customer-focused approach with the ability to close sales effectively.
Requirements for the Position
- Degree (or equivalent qualification) in a business-related field such as Business Management.
- Experience within the carpet or handmade rug sector.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Professional, reliable, and self-motivated.
- Multilingual ability is desirable.
