Job description
We are a busy city centre medical practice offering outstanding patient care, and we have an exciting opportunity for a proactive Patient Services Coordinator to join our hardworking Patient Services team.
We consistently receive excellent patient feedback, and a large part of this can be attributed to our top quality service that our Patient Services team provide as a patients' first point of contact with the surgery. If you enjoy customer service, working alongside the public and improving lives, this could be the perfect role for you. We welcome applicants from all types of roles, especially retail. Previous experience within the NHS whilst may be beneficial is not expected.

No two days are the same as a Patient Services Coordinator, and there are a huge variety of tasks involved within this role. Whether this be assisting patients on front desk, working alongside the duty doctor to book in patients that have been triaged, working through patient requests that come in via our online request service, taking phone calls from patients that call in each day, or independently processing tasks that are assigned to the Patient Services team that require various outcomes.

- Confident IT user and able to quickly learn new computer systems
- Ability to work positively as a team member by encouragement, listening and responding
- Ability to work under your own initiative and also take direction
- Ability to manage a heavy workload and prioritise, ensuring that deadlines are met
- Ability to plan and organise specifically delegated tasks and meet agreed objectives
- Ability to work within defined procedures and processes, always adhering to CQC policies and procedures to ensure the best patient care

- Problem solving and a proactive team ethos
The working pattern is to be agreed for this full time position, but we can be flexible with the individual whether they would prefer a four day condensed working pattern (e.g., 8am - 6.30pm shifts 4 times per week), or a more standard Monday - Friday working pattern (e.g., 7.5 hour days starting/finishing between 7.30am and 6.30pm to cover a share of early and late shifts), or even 4 slightly longer days and a half day (e.g. 4 x 8 hour days, 1 x 5.5 hour day). A good work-life balance and staff wellbeing is important to us, and we hope that a working pattern like this, an hour for lunch each day, and generous annual leave package can help with this.
As well as being part of a supportive and welcoming team, benefits for the candidate include:
- An attractive city centre location
- A culture of continuous learning, training and improvement
- A generous annual leave package which starts with five weeks annual leave plus Bank Holidays, pro rata, and with length of service can increase up to six weeks plus Bank Holidays, pro rata
