The role: Business Development Manager - Retrofit
Are you passionate about driving growth and innovation in electronic security solutions? NACD is seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to lead the charge in upgrading and modernizing security systems across our installed base and third-party sites, with a primary focus on Social Housing portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
· Identify and prioritize upgrade opportunities within existing customer portfolios, especially in social housing and commercial sectors.
· Work cross‑functionally with Commercial, Technical, Operations, Quality & Compliance and Finance.
· Conduct site walk-throughs, client meetings, and product demonstrations to understand customer needs and shape tailored solutions.
· Lead negotiations, manage commercial terms, and drive projects from proposal to close.
· Ensure seamless handover to project delivery teams and maintain executive sponsorship throughout key milestones.
· Uphold NACD's standards for governance, compliance, and reporting.
· Model NACD behaviours: safety‑first, integrity, accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
About You
· 5+ years' experience in B2B sales for electronic security or building technologies, with a focus on upgrades/retrofits.
· Strong knowledge of access control, door entry/intercom, CCTV/VMS, and networking fundamentals.
· Familiarity with NSI/NACOSS and BAFE standards.
· Excellent commercial acumen, CRM proficiency, reading drawings.
· Full UK driving license.
· Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
· A collaborative, accountable, and customer-centric mindset.
· IT proficiency
· Technical acumen: Understanding client requirements and proposing solutions
