Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a desire to learn in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our chefs with meal preparation, food safety, and ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of meals and ingredients, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Support chefs with cooking tasks and catering services as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces.
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the safe handling and storage of food items.
- Help with serving meals during busy service periods, providing excellent customer service.
- Participate in stock management, including receiving deliveries and inventory control.
- Collaborate with team members to create a positive working environment.
Requirements
- Previous kitchen experience or culinary training is preferred but not essential.
- Familiarity with food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
- Understanding of food safety regulations and practices.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen setting.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
