Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Cook in our small family run 16 bed carehome . In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking everyday meals, ensuring that all food safety standards are met, and delivering mainly traditional homely cooking to our residents. Your expertise will play a vital role in maintaining the reputation of our establishment while contributing to a positive team environment.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
- Must be able to evidence basic qualifications and experience in a cooking enviroment.
- Must be prepared to keep updated in qualifications and skills.
- Assist in meal preparation for special events and catering services as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
- Monitor inventory levels of kitchen supplies and ingredients, reporting any shortages to management.
- Provide support in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
- Engage with residents when necessary to establish their requirements.
Qualifications
- A passion for cooking and creating memorable meals for residents
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred.
- Strong culinary skills with knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Familiarity with food safety practices and regulations is essential.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
