We are looking for a Cook to join our Team in Nursing Care Home in Woodthorpe, Nottingham.

The position is either full time (35 hours a week) or part time (starting from 14 hours a week)

**OBJECTIVES**

Responsible for preparing, serving and cooking all food for Service Users meals to a high standard.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

1. Preparing, cooking and serving all food for Service Users meals to a high standard.

2. Preparing and cooking foods for special diets.

3. Maintaining high standards of hygiene when handling food at all times.

4. Cook, ordering and maintaining stock of food at all times.

5. Storage of food to meet with environmental health act.

6. Ensuring frozen foods are stored in a freezer and fridge at correct temperatures, checked each day to meet with environmental health act. Dried food to be stored in sealed jars.

7. Ensuring cleanliness of all equipment for preparing and cooking food e.g., microwave, cooker.

8. Maintaining high standard of cleaning in the kitchen at all times.

9. Ensuing kitchen assistant is carrying out his/her duties to a high standard.

10. Ensure any change of menu is recorded in Diary re prevention of food poisoning.

11.In line with your responsibility under legislation, comply with all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations including fire procedures, health and safety, good housekeeping etc, ensuring that they are carried out adhered to at all times.

**QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS**
- Catering qualification to QCF level 3 or equivalent would be ideal
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Team player
- Highly organised
- Knowledge/experience of health and safety legislation
- Knowledge of nutritional needs of service user group
- Ideally, experience of working in a similar environment
- You must hold a current food hygiene certificate and undergo a DBS check if successful in interview

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 14- 35 per week

**Salary**: £12.00 per hour
