Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care routines such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Support with medication administration following prescribed protocols
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Support clients with mobility including heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring safety at all times
- Drive clients to appointments or outings as required, maintaining safe driving practices
- Manage behaviour effectively through compassionate behaviour management techniques
- Monitor health status and report any concerns promptly to healthcare professionals or family members
Experience
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home care, or home care is highly desirable
- Knowledge of patient care practices including dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, and senior care is preferred
- Experience with medication administration and basic first aid procedures is advantageous
- Familiarity with caregiving roles such as childcare or general home support is beneficial
- Demonstrated ability to handle heavy lifting safely and effectively
- Valid driving licence is preferred for roles involving client transportation
- A caring attitude combined with excellent communication skills is essential for building trust and rapport with clients
