Aquarius is a charity supporting individuals and communities to overcome harm caused by alcohol, drugs, and gambling. We are proud partners within One Recovery Buckinghamshire (ORB), working alongside Inclusion (MPFT NHS Trust) and Build on Belief to deliver high-quality alcohol and drug services across Buckinghamshire.

We are currently seeking a Support Worker (Community Connector – Assessment & Engagement Team) to join our High Wycombe-based team.

The Role

As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in engaging people at the start of their recovery journey. You will provide advice, support, advocacy, and key work, contributing to recovery plans while undertaking elements of assessment and case management. You will work in a way that is client-centred, strengths-based, and rooted in respect for diversity.

Key Duties

  • Provide advice, support, and advocacy to individuals accessing substance misuse services
  • Deliver key work and contribute to recovery planning
  • Undertake assessment and elements of case management as directed
  • Maintain accurate, timely records and meet data and reporting requirements
  • Work in line with organisational policies and procedures, including safeguarding, confidentiality, and health & safety
  • Engage clients in a way that reflects understanding of the functional model of substance use and the Recovery Agenda
  • Work flexibly to meet service and client needs
  • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of service delivery

About You

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Social Care (or willingness to work towards this)
  • Experience of working within policy and procedural frameworks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage records and information accurately
  • A flexible, client-centred approach with a genuine commitment to recovery-focused work
