Job Summary

We are a well-established food manufacturing company based in Birmingham with over 20 years of industry experience. We are seeking a professional and organised Receptionist/Administrative Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for visitors and callers, providing excellent customer service while efficiently managing administrative tasks. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supporting daily operations and ensuring smooth communication across departments. The ideal applicant will possess strong organisational skills, proficiency with office software, and a friendly, professional demeanour.

Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors and clients in a courteous and professional manner
  • Answer incoming calls promptly, directing enquiries appropriately with excellent phone etiquette
  • Manage appointment scheduling and calendar organisation
  • Perform data entry tasks accurately using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and QuickBooks where necessary
  • Maintain organised filing systems both electronically and physically
  • Assist with general administrative duties such as photocopying, scanning, and mailing
  • Support team members with various clerical tasks to ensure efficient office operations
  • Handle correspondence via email and phone, ensuring clear communication at all times

Experience

  • Previous office experience or administrative role preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace applications
  • Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software is advantageous
  • Strong typing skills with attention to detail for data entry tasks
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly
  • Good telephone etiquette and professional communication skills are essential

This position is ideal for a proactive individual who thrives in a busy office environment and enjoys supporting team operations through efficient administrative practices.

Working Hours

Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:30pm

40 hours a week
