We are seeking an enthusiastic business reporter with an interest in financial news.
Project Finance International is a news driven service which covers the infrastructure finance sector. An exciting beat The product reports on the energy, renewables and social infrastructure markets.
We require a business writer who can produce major news stories on the European and sometimes global market, coordinating with reporters within or outside the region, maintaining a set of contacts and sources.
Role Summary
Project Finance International covers the financing of major infrastructure projects on a global basis. Sectors covered include renewable power, sustainable infrastructure, telecoms, mining and energy.
The role requires a keen news sense combined with a knowledge of the debt finance markets. Our stories cover debt and equity finance plus updates on the progress of individual projects and general market related stories. We produce daily news content and a bi-weekly digital/print magazine.
What you'll be doing:
- Write stories on the project finance markets for the PFIe daily news service and the bi-weekly PFI magazine. The stories should be a mix of exclusive and well informed stories on the market.
- Write feature length stories for PFI and procured outside features for PFI.
- Work with the data collection team on project finance data.
- Oversee the full life cycle of projects including story writing with accuracy and speed and in accordance with company principles and operating standards
- Becoming an expert in asset classes with good knowledge and understanding of the project finance market.
- Becoming the go-to person internally and externally for the European project finance market
What you'll bring
We require a reporter experienced in covering business and corporate finance news. An ability to produce exclusive and in depth reports is required as well as excellent writing and analytical skills. The role will require an ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
Proven experienced in reporting on the construction sector and or the debt capital markets would be preferable. The main requirement, however, is a strong news sense Proven organizational, communication and inter personal social skills will be an asset.
