Position summary:
The marketing analyst team within Sojern's Science and Optimization group plays a crucial role in driving innovation and validating new capabilities within Sojern's marketing platform. The team leverages their deep knowledge of performance marketing, extensive experience with major ad platforms, and strong analytical skills to continuously improve the performance, delivery, and efficiency of Sojern's AI-powered marketing products.
We are currently seeking a Senior Analyst, Marketing - a highly detail-oriented and data-driven marketing expert. This analyst will work closely with Product Managers, Software Engineers, Data Scientists and Applied Scientists to shape the product roadmap and drive performance for thousands of Sojern's clients. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable with programmatic marketing platforms, proficient in SQL and Tableau, and capable of making informed decisions and executing tasks independently.
What you will do:
- Collaborate with across-functional teams, including Product Managers, Software Engineers, and Scientists to enhance the performance, delivery and efficiency of Sojern's AI-powered marketing products.
- Utilize analytical tools (e.g., Tableau, SQL) to monitor and analyze key performance metrics, providing regular updates and actionable insights to stakeholders to enhance marketing efforts.
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis to uncover opportunities for scaling automation and optimization for programmatic marketing channels such as Display and social platforms.
- Stay informed about industry trends and updates in DSP algorithms to continuously refine and adapt strategies.
- Assess and address performance opportunities within the product.
- Gather feedback from peer analyst teams and provide training on new features and algorithms.
- Execute AB testing and analyze results to inform data-driven decisions for ongoing optimization and automation.
What you bring to the table:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to develop hypotheses, diagnose issues, and optimize campaigns running at scale for enhanced performance and margin.
- Ability to dive into large datasets to identify patterns and insights, driving data-driven decision-making.
- Intermediate to advanced level of proficiency in using analytical tools and techniques to gather, analyze, and interpret relevant data for informed decisions including:
- SQL expertise to extract and troubleshoot data from multiple sources.
- Tableau proficiency to visualize and communicate insight.
- Spreadsheet skills (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets), including pivot function and formulas.
- 5+ years of relevant work experience with 2-4 years focusing on programmatic digital marketing platforms. Expertise in at least one of the following platforms: CM360, DV360, Xandr, Adform, Microsoft Ads/Microsoft Ads Editor, META Social. (Programmatic is key - no flex)
- Hands-on experiences in campaigns execution including audience targeting and segmentation, performance evaluation against predefined goals, and identifying improvement opportunities.
- In-depth marketing knowledge of campaign setup, structure, management, and optimization.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams, present findings to internal/external stakeholders, and influence product roadmaps and the development of machine learning systems.
- Ability to collaborate across time-zones and adjust priorities as needed.
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in data analysis, project documentation, and business requirement gathering.
- A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Business, Economics, Marketing, Finance, Accounting, or Mathematics.
- Preferred qualification: familiarity with Python scripting, experience in executing and analyzing AB tests at scale.
