Business Development Manager / Senior Business Development Manager – Apprenticeships
Location: East Midlands – including Nottingham, Leicester, Derby, Lincoln, Mansfield, and Northampton
Salary: £35,000 – £50,000 + Bonus (depending on experience and level)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent | Hybrid

As a Business Development Manager or Senior Business Development Manager, you will take ownership of apprenticeship sales and employer engagement across Nottingham, Leicester, Derby, Lincoln, Mansfield, and Northampton. You will identify new business opportunities, manage key employer relationships, and contribute to the organisation's growth strategy.
Your responsibilities will include:
Developing and maintaining employer partnerships across the East Midlands
Promoting the full portfolio of apprenticeship and work-based learning programmes
Delivering effective sales strategies to achieve apprenticeship start and revenue targets
Preparing tailored proposals, presentations, and contracts for prospective employers
Attending employer meetings, networking events, and regional skills events
Collaborating with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and delivery of learners
Providing market insight, supporting bids and tender development, and contributing to business strategy
For Senior Level: Leading and mentoring junior business development staff, managing regional priorities, and contributing to strategic planning
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, commercially minded, and have a proven track record in apprenticeship sales, work-based learning, or employer engagement.
You will bring:
Demonstrable success in achieving apprenticeship start, sales, or revenue targets
Strong knowledge of apprenticeship funding, delivery models, and work-based learning programmes
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities
Confidence working autonomously and managing regional priorities
Leadership experience (for Senior Level) with the ability to guide junior staff
Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across the East Midlands
Passion for skills, apprenticeships, and workforce development
