The Rutland Hotel,located in the heart of Edinburgh,just a stone's throw from the castle,is seeking a talented,efficient,and detail-oriented Receptionist to join our team on a part-time basis. Our establishment features a charming 12-room,4-star hotel housed in a converted Edwardian townhouse,alongside three stylish 5-star apartment buildings. This beloved destination is cherished by both locals and tourists alike,and we pride ourselves on maintaining the highest standards.
About Us:
At The Rutland Hotel,you will play a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and comfort of our guests' rooms and apartments. Your efforts will help create a welcoming environment that aligns with our guest-focused mentality and our commitment to going the extra mile for everyone who stays with us.
What the Role Involves:
- Guest Check-In and Check-Out – Greet guests upon arrival,check them in efficiently,ensuring all necessary information is recorded,and assist with check-out procedures at the end of their stay.
- Reservations Management – Handle incoming reservation inquiries,update bookings,and manage room availability to ensure efficient use of hotel resources while providing accurate information to guests.
- Guest Services & Requests – Address guest inquiries,requests,and concerns in a professional and friendly manner,ensuring their comfort and satisfaction during their stay.
- Administrative Support – Maintain accurate records,including guest information,payments,and room status. Process payments,issue invoices,and ensure that all administrative tasks are completed in a timely manner.
Coordination with Hotel Departments – Communicate effectively with housekeeping,maintenance,and management to ensure guest requests are met and any issues are resolved promptly.
We're Looking for Someone Who:
- Strong Communication Skills – Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to interact with guests,team members,and management effectively,ensuring clear and professional exchanges.
- Customer Service Excellence – A friendly,patient,and approachable manner,with the ability to handle guest concerns and complaints with tact and professionalism,ensuring a positive guest experience.
- Organisation & Multitasking – Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently,including managing reservations,guest check-ins,and administrative duties,even during busy periods. Use of OneNote,Excel,Online Travel Platforms and OpenTable is an advantage.
- Attention to Detail – Strong attention to detail in managing guest information,reservations,and billing,ensuring accuracy and smooth service.
Problem-Solving & Adaptability – Ability to think on your feet,address issues or guest complaints swiftly,and adapt to changes in the work environment or guest needs.
