The Rutland Hotel,located in the heart of Edinburgh,just a stone's throw from the castle,is seeking a talented,efficient,and detail-oriented housekeeping staff member to join our team on a part-time basis. Our establishment features a charming 12-room,4-star hotel housed in a converted Edwardian townhouse,alongside three stylish 5-star apartment buildings. This beloved destination is cherished by both locals and tourists alike,and we pride ourselves on maintaining the highest standards.

At The Rutland Hotel,you will play a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and comfort of our guests' rooms and apartments. Your efforts will help create a welcoming environment that aligns with our guest-focused mentality and our commitment to going the extra mile for everyone who stays with us.

What the Role Involves:

  • Clean and sanitise guest rooms,including bathrooms,ensuring all areas are tidy and presentable.
  • Change bed linens and towels according to hotel standards.
  • Restock guest supplies such as toiletries,coffee,and refreshments.
  • Promptly report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management.
  • Ensure all cleaning equipment is used safely and stored properly after use.
  • Maintain a positive attitude while interacting with guests and colleagues to foster a friendly atmosphere.

We're Looking for Someone Who:

  • Is meticulous,organised,and possesses a keen eye for detail,ensuring our rooms are cleaned to the highest standards.
  • Is confident,friendly,and naturally organized,able to collaborate effectively with others.
  • Can stay calm under pressure and multitask during peak service times,managing their time to complete duties within the provided timeframe.
  • Has excellent communication skills and a guest-focused approach to hospitality and guest interactions.
  • Works well in a team and proactively supports colleagues.
  • Is punctual,reliable,and well-presented at all times.
  • Previous experience in a housekeeping role in hospitality is desirable but not essential — full training will be provided. What matters most is your attitude,energy,and willingness to learn.
