Job Summary

The Senior Housekeeping Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation within the establishment. This position is responsible for overseeing the housekeeping department, managing staff, and maintaining a welcoming environment for guests. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hotel operations and hospitality, coupled with extensive janitorial experience.

Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping operations to ensure all areas are cleaned to the highest standards.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate housekeeping staff, fostering a positive team environment.
  • Develop and implement housekeeping policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure compliance with cleanliness standards.
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address guest needs and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Prepare reports on housekeeping activities, including staff performance and inventory usage.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations within the housekeeping department.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is essential.
  • Proven experience in janitorial services or similar roles is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
  • Excellent organisational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with the ability to handle challenging situations gracefully.
