This role ensures that employee information is consistently maintained, accurate, secure, and compliant with global standards. As the primary subject matter expert (SME) for Workday HCM data structures, the role drives data strategy, supports business transformations, and enables workforce analytics that inform executive decision-making.Organisational ImpactThe Master Data Lead ensures that Workday HRIS functions as a single source of truth for workforce data. This role directly impacts:Employee Experience – ensuring accurate records across the hire-to-retire lifecycle.Compliance & Risk Mitigation – reducing exposure to regulatory and data security risks.Strategic Decision-Making – enabling leaders with reliable workforce insights.Operational Efficiency – streamlining HR processes, reporting, and integrations.Key responsibilitiesMaster Data Governance & QualityEstablish and enforce data governance frameworks, standards, and policies for Workday HRIS.Oversee the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of employee master data.Implement regular data audits, cleansing, and validation routines to maintain integrity.Develop processes to ensure data alignment across Workday and downstream systems (Payroll, Finance, IT).Workday HRIS LeadershipAct as SME for Workday HCM Core, Organization Structures, Security Roles, Job Profiles, and Position Management.Partner with HR Operations, Talent, Compensation, and Payroll to streamline data-driven processes.Manage Workday releases, testing cycles, and change management for data-related enhancements.Support data migrations and integrations in system upgrades, acquisitions, or reorganizations.Compliance & Risk ManagementEnsure data handling complies with GDPR, HIPAA, SOX, and other local/global regulations.Implement access controls, security groups, and audit trails to safeguard sensitive HR data.Lead reviews of data exceptions, errors, and escalations, implementing root-cause resolutions.Project & Stakeholder ManagementLead or contribute to HR technology projects (new module implementations, org restructures, M&A activity).Collaborate with IT, Finance, and HR leadership to align data management with business goals.Provide training, documentation, and best practice guidance to HR teams globally.Act as a key liaison between HR and system vendors/consultants on data matters.Reporting & AnalyticsDeliver data insights and dashboards to HR and leadership, enabling strategic workforce planning.Partner with analytics teams to ensure reporting accuracy and reliability.Define and monitor data quality KPIs, presenting trends and improvement opportunities.About youAnalytical & Detail-Oriented: ensures accuracy in large, complex data sets.Collaboration: works effectively with HR, IT, Finance, and external vendors.Change Leadership: drives adoption of new data processes and system enhancements.Problem-Solving: identifies issues, analyzes root causes, and implements sustainable solutions.Compliance & Confidentiality: maintains integrity and confidentiality of sensitive HR data.Strategic Mindset: balances day-to-day operations with long-term data strategy.QualificationsBachelor's degree in HR, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related discipline.5+ years of experience in HRIS/HR data management, with significant expertise in Workday.Strong background in data governance, compliance, and reporting.Knowledge of HR processes across the employee lifecycle (hire-to-retire).Experience leading system testing, upgrades, and global data projects.Advanced proficiency in Workday Reporting (BIRT, Calculated Fields, Workday Prism a plus).Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.Project management experience (PMP, Prince2, or Agile certification desirable).Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Data Accuracy: >98% accuracy rate across HR master data fields.Audit Compliance: Zero material findings in HR data audits.System Uptime & Reliability: 100% on-time delivery of data updates for payroll and HR cycles.User Adoption: Increased efficiency and reduced manual corrections by HR teams.Project Delivery: On-time and within budget completion of data-related initiatives.Stakeholder Satisfaction: Positive feedback from HR, Finance, and IT partners.Our pledgeAt Inizio, we value inclusivity, recognize the power of diversity and inspire the next generation of change-makers.
