Customer Service Advisor

VetUK, Thirsk

As a Customer Service Advisor at VetUK, you'll be the first point of contact for pet owners and veterinary professionals on our busy online platform. You'll leverage your customer service expertise to build trust and deliver accurate advice. While experience in animal health or pharmaceuticals is welcomed, we prioritise your people skills. Comprehensive industry-specific training—including support toward RAMA/SQP qualifications—will equip you to guide customers on our full range of products.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide friendly, professional support via phone and email, handling inquiries, processing orders and returns, and resolving issues
  • Advise customers on product use and administration, backed by our training and regulatory guidance
  • Maintain accurate customer records and complete data-entry tasks promptly and confidentially
  • Collaborate with prescription-only and other internal teams to ensure seamless service and up-to-date information sharing
  • Support our busy e-commerce website by managing live chat or ticketing systems as needed
  • Participate in ongoing training programs to deepen your product knowledge and service skills
  • Uphold VetUK's positive brand image through courteous, empathetic interactions
  • Assist other departments with overflow or special projects as required

The Role:

This is a full-time role based at our office in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, hybrid working arrangements can be considered. 42.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday with weekends off.

Salary of £25,000–£28,000 per annum (depending on experience).

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Proven customer service experience, ideally in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a friendly, professional manner
  • Strong problem-solving ability and a calm, empathetic approach to difficult situations
  • Comfortable using CRM systems and basic office software; full training on our platforms provided
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Self-motivated team player committed to continuous learning
  • RAMA/SQP qualification or willingness to work toward it (training and study support offered)

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Background in veterinary care, animal health, or pharmaceutical sales
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and best practices for veterinary products
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
