About us

Student Operations is responsible for the student record - its management and quality - as well as the principal functions supporting the student lifecycle (e.g., exams, timetabling, curriculum information). The division is also responsible for student statutory reporting to external stakeholders (e.g. HESA, OfS, GMC). There is a close working relationship between Student Operations and SRS Education Services as well as with the Office of the Vice-Provost (Education & Student Experience). The Timetabling Service is responsible for the planning of the academic timetable process and allocation of centrally bookable space across 11 faculties (300,000+ hours of teaching each academic year). The department also supports timetabled activities outside of teaching, such as institutional level events and estates room improvement programs.

About the role

The Timetabling Coordinator (Non-Academic) will be responsible for the effective planning, coordination, and management of timetabling activities across various non-academic departments (including the Office of the Vice-President External Engagement, Estates and the Students' Union). This role ensures that all scheduling requirements are met, resources are efficiently utilised, and any conflicts are resolved promptly.

About you

The ideal would candidate demonstrates excellent IT skills, including strong knowledge of MS Office, database use, and significant experience in timetabling or scheduling delivery, supported by extensive practical use of relevant applications. They have outstanding organisational abilities, enabling them to prioritise tasks, think clearly, and remain calm under pressure. A confident and credible communicator, they build strong relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and bring excellent negotiating skills to influence both strategic and pragmatic decision-making.

They can produce written communications with accuracy and clarity, apply innovative and creative problem-solving skills, and consistently complete high-volume, complex tasks to a high standard. They work with minimal supervision, take responsibility for meeting targets, contribute effectively to process reviews to improve services, and have experience working within large, complex, and decentralised organisations with diverse stakeholders.
