Front Office FIX Support Analyst

London 5 days a week in the office

£100,000

A leading trading firm is looking for a Front Office FIX Support Analyst to join their high-performance electronic trading technology team. This role sits directly alongside traders, quants, brokers, and external clients — perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, front-office environment and has strong FIX protocol expertise.

The Role

  • Provide real-time support for electronic trading systems across Equities / FX / Fixed Income (depending on client).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve FIX connectivity issues, drop-copy problems, session disconnects, and trade breaks.
  • Monitor order flow, executions, market connectivity, and low-latency trading behaviour.
  • Work directly with traders, brokers, clients, and onboarding teams to ensure smooth trading and minimal downtime.
  • Analyse logs, FIX messages, and trade data to identify root causes and prevent repeat issues.
  • Support client onboarding, certification, and testing of new FIX flows.
  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to deploy upgrades, patches, and environment changes.
  • Support end-to-end order routing, algo behaviour, and market venue integrations.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong understanding of FIX protocol (4.2/4.4) — message types, tags, order lifecycle.
  • Experience supporting electronic trading systems within a bank, broker, hedge fund, or trading venue.
  • Ability to read logs, parse FIX messages, and troubleshoot connectivity issues confidently.
  • Knowledge of order management, market microstructure, and the trade lifecycle.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a front-office environment.
  • Exposure to Linux/Unix, SQL, scripting (Python/Shell), or monitoring tools is a plus.
  • Clear, concise communication for working with traders and external clients.
