Job Summary

The Conference & Banqueting Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless execution of events and functions within our establishment. This position requires a dynamic individual with exceptional organisational skills and a strong background in hospitality. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of conference and banqueting operations, ensuring that guests receive outstanding service while maximising revenue through effective upselling strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning and execution of conferences, banquets, and special events, ensuring all client requirements are met.
  • Coordinate with various departments including catering, housekeeping, and front office to ensure smooth operations.
  • Develop and implement upselling strategies to enhance guest experiences and increase revenue.
  • Maintain high standards of guest services, addressing any issues or feedback promptly and professionally.
  • Oversee the preparation of event spaces, ensuring they are set up according to specifications.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
  • Monitor event budgets and ensure adherence to financial targets.
  • Train and supervise staff in delivering exceptional service during events.
  • Stay updated on industry trends to continually improve service offerings.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a similar role within the hospitality sector, preferably in hotels or restaurants.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent time management abilities to handle multiple events simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, staff, and vendors.
  • Experience in fundraising or managing charitable events is advantageous.
  • A passion for guest services and a commitment to delivering high-quality experiences.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required by event schedules. This role is ideal for an enthusiastic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is dedicated to creating memorable experiences for guests.
