We are working closely alongside with a local authority in Ashfield to assist with the appointment of a Complaints Officer on a 6.5-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £24.04- £31.09 per hour
Summary:
We are seeking a Complaints Officer - Housing to join a local authority housing team in Kirkby in Ashfield. This vital role is responsible for the efficient and effective management of the council's housing-related complaints and expressions of dissatisfaction across various service areas. The successful candidate will ensure all complaints are handled in strict adherence to the Housing Ombudsman Service's Complaint Handling Code and the Council's internal policy/procedure. The officer will be key in the end-to-end complaints process, from acknowledgement and investigation support through to response drafting, record keeping, and implementing learning outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Acknowledge complaints promptly and formally in writing, adhering to set timescales.
- Support with the collation and review of information relating to expressions of dissatisfaction and formal complaints.
- Draft detailed complaint investigation notes to ensure a clear and accurate record of the process.
- Ensure that all complaints are handled in full alignment with the Housing Ombudsman Service's Complaint Handling Code and Ashfield District Councils complaints policy/procedure.
- Assist in maintaining accurate and comprehensive complaint records across all stages of the process.
- Support with the implementation of complaint learning outcomes, recommendations, and orders to drive service improvement and prevent recurrence of issues.
Essentials:
- Proven knowledge of handling complaints specifically within a social housing environment (e.g., local authority or housing association).
- Demonstrated experience in a role involving detailed collation, review, and summarisation of complex information.
- Excellent written communication skills for drafting professional and clear correspondence, including formal responses and detailed notes.
- Proficiency in IT skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite and complaints management software/databases) for maintaining accurate records and producing reports.
