In 2023, Ogilvy UK celebrated their 75th anniversary and was the most awarded agency in Europe. Ogilvy is home to the largest influencer marketing practice globally, and hosts the world's biggest festival of behavioural science and creativity, Nudgestock – now in its 12th year.
The Role
This is a global client – The Coca Cola Company, which WPP won in 2022 globally and the biggest account in the advertising industry. WPP created a new team called Open X to manage all the different brands for the TCCC Company - brands such as Sprite, Fanta, Smartwater, Jack and Coke etc to name a few.
This role is to manage integrated global / regional / local projects on the TCCC account. Reporting into the Operations Director, you will have direct management responsibilities for your projects, and dotted line responsibilities for the advertising & content teams.
The Delivery Director has day-to‐day responsibility for the smooth and effective running of their assigned projects from client briefing to delivery of all final outputs; they will be the glue between the disciplines, pulling together the right resources and approach (from within Ogilvy Experience as well as connecting to the multi-discipline teams across the global network) with a focus on great delivery.
- Able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the strategic nature of each assigned project and apply this to the project needs – discussing approach with the account management team articulating the ask to the wider business and capturing that need in workplans and client conversations.
- Great skills in effective project set-up, project planning, budget and resource control, project managing, reporting and process optimization.
- Detail obsessed, be on top of all aspects of their projects, comfortable with workload volume flexing, whilst being aware of the bigger picture and building a good relationship with their project team and Operations Director.
- Able to demonstrate first-hand experience of working in a global/local environment with a broad knowledge of disciplines (from strategy to execution).
- Client facing – happy to have open conversations with our clients around briefing, commercials, deliverables etc. Partnering with the client and their specialist teams to delivery great work.
- Commercially savvy - be comfortable with all levels of commercial conversations covering scoping, budget planning and prioritization, scope negotiation, revenue reporting, resource planning and forecasting, interaction with the client scope tool and empowering client services team with the right data to have commercial conversations.
- Ensure our projects are efficient – driving performance to ensure we reach contribution margin targets, having flexibility to think outside of the box and ensuring delivery, resource allocation, standard of creative output is as it should be. Putting the right processes and tools in place to drive efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Experience with managing, scheduling and delivering projects on a global, integrated account.
- Experience with delivering Toolkits as well as final assets for deployment in market.
- Work closely to build relationships with internal team members (consultants, project managers, producers, account management, creatives) and be the hub on their projects.
- Manage multiple work streams, with a focus on the creative output, but working on projects that will connect to the wider agency (brand identify, communications, experience, PR) to agreed scope, timings and budget.
- At the start of a project, analyse areas that could potentially throw the delivery off-track, and where possible mitigate against them.
- Be responsible for creating and maintaining project timing plans from pre-brief to final delivery - with input from specialist departments.
- Confident in collaborating with multi-agency teams. If any part of the schedule slips, the DD will notify all relevant departments and any change to the final delivery date.
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of Ogilvy and client project tools and platforms. Be comfortable using digital workflow tools, communication tools (such as Teams, SharePoint, Smartsheet etc.)
- Be responsible for raising all the POs on a job unless this falls under the responsibility of specialist departments.
- Work closely with the Ogilvy Resource Team to book resource and keep them informed of all resource requirements.
- Comfortable with voicing over commercial issues etc. during fortnightly financial status meetings where necessary.
Being professional
- Everything communicates – ensure that all documentation, costings, briefs, scopes and presentations are of the highest possible standard and as per client mandates. Maintain good housekeeping
- Be positive and a force for good within the team – even when faced with difficult problems. Be solutions focused.
- Be a Self-Starter – this is a new way-of-working so our team needs to be enthusiastic, open to change and innovation, flexible with approach and eager to get involved. Share ideas, share innovations and process optimisation ideas.
- Be a champion for the output - helping push (and when necessary, protect) the right conditions to give space to the thinking.
- Know when to delegate upwards and downwards and raise the alarm at the right time, to the right people when issues occur.
- Help to make Ogilvy a great place to work and not least to try and have fun whilst carrying out the above. Be a team player.
