The Hoof Restaurant in Rye, East Sussex

This independently owned restaurant prides itself on its use of local produce including beef and potatoes from the family owned farm, fish from local fishing fleets and wine, beer and craft spirits from local producers.

While the menu headlines on Steaks and Burgers the varied menu has quickly attracted a loyal local following

The young and enthusiastic work to provide a family friendly restaurant situated in a substantially renovated building in the heart of Rye

The successful Chef will undertake the following duties:

· Supporting the general running of the kitchen

·Ensuring the kitchen meets high standards of quality.

· Completing food hygiene documents to comply with the law and writing environmental health reports when necessary.

· Establishing strong relationships with staff in other areas of the business, including managers and front of house teams

· Communicating with front of house staff.

· Ordering supplies and negotiating with suppliers where necessary.

· Organising produce and ensuring strict adherence to food hygiene regulations.

· Maintaining an organised and clean kitchen.

Ideal candidate

· Enthusiastic with a willingness to learn

· A team player but also have the ability to work on your own initiative

· Able to follow guidelines and remain calm under pressure

Following on from the success of the family's first restaurant, Hoof, in historic Rye. We have recently taken over the Woolpack Inn in Brookland, Romney Marsh, building on the theme of locally produced food served in family friendly surroundings.
