Position Overview
A leading HVAC Organization is expanding its operations into Europe and is seeking a
Business Development Director
to spearhead growth in the region.
The Business Development Director will be responsible for
building market presence, developing customer relationships, and driving revenue growth
. This is a
highly entrepreneurial opportunity
, where the successful candidate will have the chance to
build the European market.
We are looking for a strong sales leader who can combine
strategic leadership, hands-on sales execution, and technical expertise
to establish a foundation for long-term success.
The role requires strong
consultative selling skills
to establish and nurture relationships with
mechanical engineers, contractors, hyperscalers (Google, AWS, Facebook, Microsoft), and colocation companies (Equinix, CyrusOne, Digital Realty)
. It also requires deep technical knowledge of HVAC solutions and the ability to support customers throughout the full project lifecycle.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and nurture relationships with mechanical engineers, mechanical contractors, and business owners.
- Responsible for sales, account management, business development, and project management for commercial accounts.
- Understand specific customer requirements to develop and execute account-specific business plans.
- Promptly and accurately respond to customer needs by identifying products and designing systems that lead to sales.
- Work closely with accounts to ensure optimum customer satisfaction on every project.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required; Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred.
- 8–10 years of progressive sales/business development experience in HVAC or data center equipment solutions.
Skills & Requirements:
- Proven track record of delivering consistent revenue growth and exceeding ambitious sales targets.
- Ability to lead business development strategies while remaining hands-on in execution.
- Consultative sales skills/knowledge and demonstrated experience selling in a matrixed environment.
- Deep technical knowledge of HVAC equipment such as Fan Walls, CDUs, CRAC and CRAH Units, and Air Handling Units.
- Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Entrepreneurial drive, independence, and ability to thrive in a start-up/expansion environment.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Energetic with a positive attitude, conscientious, enthusiastic, articulate, and professional to handle a fast-paced work environment.
- Willingness to travel extensively across EMEA.
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation: c£160,000 to £175,000 basic Salary plus commission with a realistic OTE of £350,000 +
- Variable Pay:
Uncapped quarterly/monthly bonuses & commissions (20–30% typical) - Benefits include:
