Children's Residential Support Worker - Wellingborough (Full Training Provided)

Salary: Up to £29,120 per year (+ £60 per sleep-in, up to 8 per month)

Hours: Up to 46.5 hours per week (overtime available)

Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire (occasional travel within the area)

Contract: Full-time, three-week rolling rota (includes evenings and weekends)

About the Role

Higgins Talent are proud to partner with Heart & Home Living, a respected provider of therapeutic residential care for children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).

We're seeking compassionate, resilient and reliable Residential Support Workers who are ready to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.

As part of a dedicated, trauma-informed team, you'll create a nurturing and structured home environment where every child feels safe, valued, and supported to reach their potential.

What You'll Do

  • Build trusting, supportive relationships with children and young people
  • Encourage personal development, independence, and emotional resilience
  • Maintain clear routines, boundaries, and consistency within the home
  • Support young people during emotional or behavioural challenges
  • Promote positive routines, wellbeing, and life skills
  • Participate in activities, trips, and daily living tasks

What We're Looking For

  • Empathy, patience, and emotional awareness
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Flexibility to work shifts, evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare / Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards - full support provided)

This role also involves physical aspects such as walking long distances, engaging in play and activities, and participating in physical interventions (with full training).
