We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide essential support to patients in care homes or home care settings, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Support the implementation of individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals
- Monitor and record patients' health status, reporting any concerns promptly
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, fostering a caring environment
- Assist with medication management as directed by healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems
- Support with light domestic tasks within care environments or clients' homes
- Drive or accompany patients to appointments or outings as required (driving skills advantageous)
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members to ensure seamless care delivery
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate records and updating care plans
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for roles involving transportation of patients
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to follow detailed care plans
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to patient care
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently when required
