Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in care homes and home care settings, ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to implement care plans and assist with daily living activities. Strong communication skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality care are essential for success in this position.

Duties

  • Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Support individuals in maintaining their independence by encouraging participation in daily activities.
  • Help with mobility and transportation needs, including driving residents to appointments when necessary.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement and follow care plans tailored to each individual's needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' conditions.
  • Foster a positive environment by engaging residents in conversation and activities that promote mental well-being.
  • Ensure that the care home or home environment is clean, safe, and welcoming for all residents.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential.
  • Proficiency in English is required for effective communication with residents and team members.
  • Basic IT skills are necessary for maintaining records and using electronic health systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both residents and colleagues.
  • A valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting residents as needed.
