Job Title: Assistant Restaurant Manager position:
The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily operations to ensure a smooth, efficient, and profitable restaurant environment. This role involves supervising staff, maintaining service quality, managing customer concerns, and ensuring compliance with food safety and operational standards. The Assistant Manager also helps drive sales, improve team performance, and uphold the restaurant's brand image.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management
- Assist in overseeing day-to-day restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure food quality, presentation, and service standards are consistently met.
- Monitor inventory levels, place supply orders, and manage stock rotation.
- Support scheduling and ensure adequate staffing coverage during peak hours.
Team Leadership & Training
- Supervise, motivate, and support front-of-house and back-of-house staff.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training new team members.
- Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to ensure excellent service.
- Foster a positive, safe, and collaborative work environment.
Customer Service
- Address and resolve customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.
- Ensure guests have a positive dining experience and maintain a high standard of hospitality.
- Monitor dining room flow and anticipate customer needs.
Financial & Administrative Duties
- Assist with cash handling, daily receipts, and bank deposits.
- Support the Restaurant Manager in budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Track labor, food cost, and wastage to meet profitability targets.
Compliance & Safety
- Enforce health, safety, and sanitation standards in accordance with local regulations.
- Ensure employees follow company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in restaurant or hospitality management preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid understanding of restaurant operations, POS systems, and basic financials.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
