About the Role This is a career graded role, with opportunity to progress from Planning Officer to Senior Planning Officer. Applicants interested in all levels of the role are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Assess and manage planning applications from pre‑application to condition discharge and post‑decision matters. Prepare reports and recommendations for Planning Committee and delegated decisions. Provide professional advice to applicants, agents, and stakeholders. Contribute to Local Plan development and policy work. Support enforcement investigations and represent the Council at appeals. What We’re Looking For A keen interest in planning/built environment and a commitment to learning. Strong communication, problem‑solving, and organisational skills. Ability to manage a varied workload and deliver excellent customer service. A proactive, positive attitude with flexibility and resilience.
