Job summary We are a friendly, well-established GP practice in South Norwood seeking an experienced and motivated Practice Manager to join our team. Main duties of the job This is a key leadership role with responsibility for the overall management and day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring services run smoothly, safely, and in line with NHS and regulatory requirements. Working closely with the GPs and the clinical team will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of care, supporting staff, and driving service improvement. About us You will be joining a close-knit, supportive practice serving a patient population of under 6,000, where teamwork, mutual respect and patient-centred care are at the heart of everything we do. Our multidisciplinary team is made up of 4 GPs, 2 Practice Nurses, a Healthcare Assistant, and a wider clinical support network including a Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, Social Prescribing Link Worker and First Contact Physiotherapy Practitioner, all backed by a dedicated and experienced administrative team. Details Date posted: 14 December 2025 Pay scheme: Other Salary: Depending on experience Contract: Permanent Working pattern: Full-time, Part-time Reference number: A5834-25-0006 Job locations: The Selhurst Medical Centre, 27 Selhurst Road, London, SE25 5QA Job responsibilities Overall responsibility for the day-to-day operational management of the practice Leadership, line management, and development of the administrative and non-clinical team Supporting GP Principal with strategic planning and service development Ensuring compliance with CQC standards, NHS contractual requirements, and information governance Managing policies, procedures, and clinical governance frameworks Overseeing patient services, complaints, and feedback in line with NHS guidance Managing workforce planning, recruitment, induction, appraisals, and training Promoting staff wellbeing, engagement, and a positive team culture Liaising with external stakeholders including the PCN, ICB, and other NHS organisations Oversight of IT systems, estates, and health & safety Supporting digital transformation and continuous improvement initiatives Person Specification – Experience Essential Previous experience in GP practice management or a senior healthcare operational role Strong leadership, people management, and communication skills Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities Good understanding of NHS primary care operations and regulatory requirements Ability to work independently and proactively within a small practice environment Knowledge of EMIS Web and other NHS systems Desirable Practice Management qualification or equivalent experience Experience preparing for and supporting CQC inspections Experience working within a Primary Care Network Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
