Children's Residential Deputy Manager

In this role, you will support the Registered Manager in all aspects of home management, taking the lead on shift to delegate tasks and ensure that all records and care plans meet high standards. You'll lead care planning, reviews, and ensure compliance with Children’s Home Regulations. As a mentor and guide, you’ll promote effective teamwork while managing staff inductions, supervisions, and appraisals. You will champion our young people by supporting their choices, encouraging independence, and responding to challenges with compassion and confidence. Additionally, you’ll liaise with professionals and agencies to provide holistic support, manage on‑call duties, and consistently uphold company policies. Responsibilities We’re a leading therapeutic children’s care provider in the Northwest, looking for caring, resilient, and passionate individuals to support young people aged 8‑17 from complex backgrounds‑including those with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), high‑risk challenging behaviour, and learning/behavioural challenges. We’re dedicated to delivering consistent, compassionate care that helps young people feel safe, supported, and understood. Qualifications & Experience Level 3 or 4 qualification in Children & Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent) At least 2 years’ experience in a senior role within a children’s residential setting NVQ Level 3 or 4 Children and Young Peoples Workforce (or equivalent) Full UK Manual Driving Licence You will contribute to Exceptional Care’s ambition to provide outstanding care and transformative support for children and young people.
