Job Overview

Brighter Futures NWLTD are a newly established childrens home based in Skelmersdale Lancashire. We are looking to recruit residential support workers to care for 2 children who present with emotional and behavioural difficulties between the ages of 7/17 years

The shift patterns cover days, waking nights and sleep-in, (sleep in rate applied)

Shifts are a mixture of 16 hour days, sleep in or if required a waking night shifts. We have a flexible range of contracts available to suit individual needs- the potential for additional shifts is available.

Rotas are completed a minimum of 4 weeks in advance and are designed to meet the needs of the young people but we can be flexible to meet the needs of our team and understand the work/family balance.

Our children are cared for 365 days of the year and therefore we need to staff the homes at all times meaning you may be required to work days, evenings, weekends and public holidays.

In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals, particularly children, ensuring their wellbeing and assisting them in daily activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a genuine desire to make a positive impact in the lives of those they support.

Duties

  • Assist children with daily living activities, including personal care and hygiene.
  • Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Communicate effectively with children, families, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive support network.
  • Drive to various locations as required for outings or appointments.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and progress made.
  • Engage children in educational and recreational activities to promote development.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with children is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with children and their families.
  • Ability to drive and hold a valid driving licence is preferred.
  • Familiarity with care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
  • Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes.
  • A compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality support.
