OverviewDescription: Leidos is seeking a Business Development Manager – Defence, aligned to the National Security and Defence (NS&D) Division covering the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence. Location: Farnborough or Whiteley with flexibility to work from home dependent on business demands. We aim to deliver innovative solutions with a commitment to customers, people and community.The role you will playPlan and lead Business Development activities to achieve annual awards targets in this strategic and fast-growing area of the UK business.Develop the pipeline of opportunities to support the next 3-5 years growth that aligns to the UK strategy.Develop and maintain senior relationships with Defence clients, positioning Leidos as a strategic potential supplier.Guide Leidos bid teams in pursuit and shaping of the business development campaign with differentiated client propositions.Identify, influence and qualify opportunities that match Leidos strengths and provide optimum outcomes for the client and Leidos.Collaborate with the marketing team to develop campaigns that bring Leidos capabilities to the UK Defence market.Lead and execute significant new business campaigns in the UK Defence market.Operate effectively within a multi-functional team and demonstrate leadership and communication skills.The successful candidate will haveSubstantial experience selling C4ISR capability into the UK Defence market.Existing client relationships in UK Ministry of Defence.A track record of driving business growth year on year and hitting targets.Experience leading and winning contracts valued over £25m.Extensive knowledge of Government business development, contract awards, procurement trends and customer buying behaviours.Experience in creating compelling winning bids with partners.Background in delivering strategy, business solutions and transformation with experience pursuing and winning new business.Excellent interpersonal, presentation and verbal skills and negotiation experience.Ability to manage multiple bids with momentum and energy.Client and industry stakeholder engagement skills.Experience mentoring agile teams to grow and change the business.Domain Specific RequirementsExperienced Business Developer, Senior Account Manager or Capture Leader with complex UK MOD Land and Joint C4ISR campaigns.Experience delivering large strategic capital MOD Change Programmes.Experience in C4ISR and/or CEMA within complex MOD delivery organisations.Skills in sales, capture, bid and marketing: team leading, revenue generation, business case authoring, integrated campaign design and execution, R&D exploitation, stakeholder management.Experience formulating use cases for multi-domain and digital transformation concept demonstrators.UK Sales of Secure Information and Communications systems: revenue generation, campaign management, capture leadership, sales & marketing, bid management, customer engagement, defence acquisition change.Understanding of MOD digital transformation programmes and related portfolios.Understanding of autonomous systems, ITSM and AI/ML applications to solve problems is desirable.ClearanceClearance to Start: SCClearance for Role: DVWhat we do for youAt Leidos we are passionate about customer success, united as a team and inspired to make a difference.
