Role Outline This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about inspiring young people to reach their full potential through sport and leadership activities. As an Assistant Programme Manager, you will co-manage SportInspired Community Games Programme, from recruiting schools and running Team Spirit Workshops in primary schools to planning every element of legacy clubs (school sports clubs). The work is varied, fulfilling, and contributes directly to tangible social impact. Responsibilities Support Programme Managers with the end-to-end organisation and delivery of high-quality community-based programmes Recruit and manage primary and secondary school partners and sports clubs Gather initial information required to establish legacy sports clubs Manage events, including sourcing venues, conducting risk assessments, and handling administration Act as the first point of contact for enquiries from schools and sports clubs regarding programmes and multi-sports festivals Maintain and update programme spreadsheets to a high standard Complete any additional duties and projects as required Carry out and compile research on community needs in the areas where SportInspired operates Person Specification Essential Genuine enthusiasm and some experience working with young people and delivering positive social impact through sport and community programmes Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for engaging with school staff, sports coaches and partners Ability to stay organised and manage multiple tasks, even when deadlines overlap Willingness to take initiative, solve problems independently and remain calm when things get busy Good attention to detail and a commitment to delivering work to a high standard Ability to work well in a small, fast-paced team environment Confidence in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to carry out research independently Desirable Experience managing or supporting projects or events (professional, voluntary or through university societies) Experience in a youth, school, sport or community-focused environment Experience meeting deadlines on structured tasks or projects Experience working with multiple stakeholders such as teachers, coaches or venue staff Previous responsibility for keeping records or spreadsheets accurate and up to date Ability to prioritise independently while balancing short- and long-term tasks A Bachelor’s degree (2:1) in Sport Management, Sports Science, Physical Education or related Package and Benefits Enhanced DBS check for children.
