Every day may be different – it's the nature of managing programmes and complex projects
Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that programmes and large-scale projects under your management run smoothly, delivering value and aligning with strategic business objectives. You will oversee multiple interrelated projects within a programme while also being hands-on in managing individual complex projects when required. If you are a passionate Programme Manager who thrives on strategic oversight, stakeholder engagement, and driving successful outcomes, then come and join our enthusiastic team.
This role is a blend of customer-facing programme and project management (65% billable work) and supporting our sales organisation (35% Pre-Sales engagement). You will be hands-on in ensuring successful customer deliveries while also contributing to business growth by shaping proposals, engaging in pre-sales discussions, and helping to define the strategic direction of new engagements.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be liaising with our wonderful Customers (both new and longstanding) and working with nearly all areas of the business, including Pre-Sales, Commercial, Consultancy, Support, and Finance. Your activities will include strategic planning, overseeing programme delivery, directly managing high-impact projects, forecasting, communicating progress, mitigating risks, and managing inter-dependencies. You will also manage budgets and ensure that projects within the programme deliver value and align with business goals.
You will play a key role in programme governance, ensuring projects contribute effectively to the overall objectives of the programme and business strategy.
- Lead and manage multiple projects within a programme to ensure they align with business strategy and deliver expected benefits
- Oversee and support project managers to ensure successful execution while also directly managing high-value, complex, or high-risk projects as needed
- Mobilise and coordinate project teams, working closely with Pre-Sales, Account Managers, Consultants, and Resourcing Teams
- Establish programme governance frameworks, ensuring clear processes, milestones, and reporting structures
- Drive programme and project planning, ensuring alignment between deliverables and strategic goals
- Identify, track, and manage programme and project-level risks, issues, and interdependencies, ensuring clear pathways to resolution
- Manage budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and financial accountability across projects and programmes
- Own and oversee reporting, generating high-level highlight reports and programme updates for senior management and customers
- Ensure quality standards are upheld across all projects within the programme and for individual complex projects
- Manage customer relationships, ensuring satisfaction and alignment with their strategic objectives
- Conduct post-programme and project evaluations to drive continuous improvement and lessons learned
- Support the Pre-Sales team by shaping programme and project approaches, delivery strategies, and implementation plans
- Work closely with Account Managers and Solution Architects to scope new opportunities, ensuring alignment with delivery capabilities
- Attend customer meetings to provide expert programme and project management guidance and assist in defining roadmaps for future work and how this impacts/intertwines with current delivery schedules
- Contribute to proposals and Statements of Work, ensuring they are realistic and achievable from a delivery perspective
- Provide insight into delivery feasibility, risks, and resourcing during the sales cycle
- Help refine internal processes to improve the transition from sales to delivery, ensuring smooth programme and project mobilisation
- Programme and Project Management qualifications (MSP, PgMP, PRINCE2, PMP preferred) or strong equivalent experience
- Proven experience in managing both complex projects and multi-project programmes within a Microsoft Partner environment (or similar)
- Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to align projects and programmes to broader business goals
- Extensive experience in stakeholder management, with the ability to engage at all levels of an organisation
- Strong financial and commercial awareness, with experience in managing budgets across projects and programmes
- Experience in both hands-on project management and programme oversight, understanding how to balance delivery and governance
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience in mentoring and guiding project managers
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a structured and logical approach to addressing challenges
- Self-motivated, proactive, and committed to continuous professional development
