**Programme Assistant - Youth project - £15.52 per hour**
Intergovernmental body is seeking an experienced Programme Assistant to support their youthprogramme team at their central London headquarters.
This is a temporary role to start asap (dependant on checks) for an initial 6-month period and will pay £15.52 per hour PAYE.
The Assistant Programme Officer is responsible for providing technical and administrative support to the Youth Programmes Section. The Section is focused on design, implementation and management of youth programming. Duties include:
- Contribute to operational planning of youth programmes
- Contributing to the development of context-specific research papers, toolkits, resources, guidelines and training programmes, for use by / with member governments, youth leaders and youth professionals;
- Providing technical input to the design and delivery of programme activity such as events, meetings and workshops;
- Contributing to timely and accurate research on youth programme design, development, impact and examples of best-fit practice;
- Monitoring the outcomes of technical assistance and programme work, and collating learning in alignment with Commonwealth youth development frameworks and guidelines
- Providing administrative support, including correspondence, procurement payments and arranging logistics related to youth programmes work;
The ideal Programme Assistant will have the following knowledge, skills and experience:
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent in youth development. Degrees in related fields such as social sciences or international development may be considered, if combined with relevant experience in youth-led development and democracy initiatives.
- Demonstrated work experience in the design and delivery of youth development and/or youth-led development or democracy programmes. The work experience may be gained through a combination of paid employment, volunteer, placement or internship positions
- Sound and demonstrated knowledge of youth and/or social development.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement.
- Experience of working in a developing country; and working

- intergovernmental or international NGO is organisations is desirable
- Ability to work autonomously and in teams, and in a multi-cultural work environment;
- Demonstrated drive and initiative, a self-starter with a can-do attitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with interpersonal and negotiating skills.
- Strategic thinking and operational planning capabilities.Analysis and synthesis skills
- Administrative and organisational abilities, including an eye for detail.
- Technologically savvy including excellent working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- The position may involve some international travel.
