Our client are an early stage startup who are creating a product that is looking to address / solve a key problem in the RF market and have already secured substantial investment (~£24 million) with some big names in the RF space also associated with the company. I'm looking for a Business Development Manager to come in as the 1st dedicated sales person for the company - someone who knows the market and is able to go out to find potential partners - a great opportunity to join a company that is due to go through a period of rapid growth. Job Summary In the role of Business Development Manager you will be entrusted with a range of critical responsibilities that are central to growth and market positioning. Your key areas of responsibility will include: - Prospect Hunting: Actively seeking out new prospects for products, particularly targeting companies involved in connected wearables and mobile phones. - Influencer Engagement: Identifying and fostering relationships with high-level influencers - Collaboration and Feedback: Working closely with the management team to create effective feedback, ensuring alignment and shared objectives across the organization. - Relationship Building: Cultivating and maintaining high-level relationships that can be leveraged into sales opportunities, marketing initiatives, and strategic alliance partnerships. - Industry Engagement: Focusing on influential targets within the industry, including engaging with media, participating in shows, and attending key venues within key markets to enhance brand visibility and networking opportunities. - Business Development Strategy: Developing innovative strategies and tactics to attract new business, ensuring that the company stays ahead of market trends and customer needs. - Competitive Intelligence: Collecting and utilizing a variety of data sources to provide competitive intelligence, diligently tracking and analyzing the competitive landscape. Desired Experience: To excel as a Business Development Manager, a candidate must possess a unique blend of educational, technical, and interpersonal skills. These qualifications are critical for effectively understanding and navigating the complex landscape of the semiconductor and RF component industry, as well as for driving business growth through strategic initiatives and strong relationships. - Educational Background: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. A technical degree is often preferred due to the technical nature of the products. - Industry Experience: Several years of experience in business development or sales, preferably in the semiconductor, RF components, or a related high-tech industry. - Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of semiconductor and RF technologies, and an ability to grasp complex technical products and market dynamics. - Sales Skills: Proven track record in sales, with the ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities effectively. - Strategic Thinking: Capability to develop and implement business strategies that align with company goals. - Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, necessary for engaging with clients and internal teams effectively.
