Job Overview:

An Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) provides high-quality, patient-centered care by assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of medical conditions. Working autonomously or as part of a multidisciplinary team, the ANP utilizes advanced clinical skills, knowledge, and evidence-based practices to manage patient care, promote health, and provide education. This role requires advanced clinical judgment, decision-making, and leadership in providing healthcare services to patients across a variety of settings.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Care:

* Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients, including physical examinations, history taking, and diagnostic testing.

* Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions, prescribing medications and other interventions as necessary.

* Order, interpret, and act upon diagnostic tests such as laboratory work, imaging, and other assessments.

* Develop and implement individualized care plans based on evidence-based guidelines and patient needs.

* Provide continuity of care, offering follow-up consultations and adjusting treatment plans as required.

* Perform minor procedures within the scope of practice, such as wound care, suturing, and joint injections (if applicable).

Patient Education & Support:

* Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment options, and self-management strategies.

* Counsel patients on preventative health, lifestyle modifications, and wellness practices.

* Provide emotional and psychological support to patients, addressing their concerns and promoting mental health as part of holistic care.

Collaboration & Teamwork:

* Work in collaboration with physicians, specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.

* Participate in case discussions, clinical rounds, and multidisciplinary team meetings.

* Provide mentorship and support to junior staff, including nursing staff and students.

Leadership & Management:

* Take a leadership role in managing and improving clinical services, ensuring high standards of care.

* Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and service development projects.

* Contribute to the development of clinical protocols, guidelines, and policies.

Professional Development:

* Maintain and enhance clinical knowledge and expertise through ongoing professional development, attending courses, workshops, and conferences.

* Participate in clinical supervision and performance appraisal processes.

Regulatory and Administrative:

* Ensure that all care is delivered in compliance with relevant healthcare regulations, policies, and ethical guidelines.

* Complete documentation accurately and promptly in patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.

* Contribute to the development of policies and procedures within the practice or healthcare facility.

Qualifications & Skills:

Essential:

* Registered Nurse with a current license to practice.

* Master’s degree in Advanced Practice Nursing, or equivalent advanced clinical qualification.

* Advanced clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.

* Prescribing qualification (Independent Prescriber or ability to work under a prescribing framework).

* Significant experience (typically 3+ years) in a clinical nursing role, with a focus on [ primary care].

* Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
