Managing / Senior Estimator – Civils - Lincolnshire

Approach Personnel are proud to be working with a leading construction specialist who are seeking a Managing / Senior Estimator to join their Commercial Team, helping to both manage their team of Estimators and the commercial process within the team itself.

This role would be based working around highways, so is ideal for someone with experience in groundworks, drainage, kerbing and highways.

Key Responsibilities:

Day to Day

Managing the Estimating team, including Estimators and Administrators
Conducting Site Visits and Meetings at all stages, from tender through prestart and to construction
Producing and submitting accurate quotations for clients, including all Terms of Business and Terms and Conditions
Following drawing take offs, you will produce accurate bills of quantities for each project
Identifying potential suppliers and supply chain products suitable for each contract, and developing relationships with trusted suppliers
Placing orders with suppliers, ensuring cost effectiveness and timely delivery
Creating and Managing Cost Matrixes for rate guidelines and demonstrations
Creating handover files ready to pass to the operations team
Working alongside the Department Head to assess resource needs
Using estimating tools and software to produce accurate cost analysis and calculations
Tenders and Bids

Sourcing new tendering and bid opportunities through frameworks and portals
Managing the company Tender Matrix/Register, keeping record of submissions and outcomes
Taking responsibility for the full tendering process, from sourcing through to completion
Spearheading the team through the tendering process, overseeing the submission of documentation and adherence to timelines
Supporting the Estimating team to produce quality bid submissions
Experience:

Essential

Proven experience managing/supervising a commercial team
Proven experience in civil engineering, including drainage, kerbing, and general groundworks
Beneficial

Experience in Highways civil engineering, including Section 38 and 278
