Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Lincolnshire. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and manufacturing complex equipment, working closely with fabrication workshop teams and partners to ensure efficient project management.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead customer design projects from initial concept to manufacturing and development, ensuring timely delivery and meeting customer expectations.
  • Utilise SolidWorks CAD software to produce high-quality machine assemblies, detail drawings, and data management, maintaining accurate records and adhering to industry standards.
  • Collaborate with fabrication workshop teams and external suppliers to optimise design for manufacture, reducing costs and improving efficiency.
  • Evaluate project costs and estimate procurement requirements, ensuring accurate pricing and timely delivery.
  • Perform SolidWorks FEA analysis to simulate conceptual testing and visualisation, informing design decisions and improving product performance.

Requirements:

  • Degree in an Engineering discipline (time-served, HND, HNC, BSc, BEng, or MSc).
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD modelling or similar software, with experience in component modelling and design for manufacture (DFM or DFMA).
  • Hands-on experience with sheet metal, metal pressing/folding machines, and weldments, with a strong understanding of fabrication processes.
