Main duties of the job The successful post holder will work at SpR level and join the Obstetrics and Gynaecology medical team at York and Scarborough Hospitals.
The Post holder will be competent in basic skills in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and engage in all the duties incumbent in that role.This is not an approved training position; however you will receive the following; Named clinical supervisorLocal Induction and information pack outlining internal training courses/opportunities available to doctors in these non-approved training positionsIndividual Personal Development Plan and annual Appraisal - Individual access to the NHS e-appraisal system (funded by the Trust for posts that are six months or longer)Funding and paid time available for study leave (£500 per annum pro-rata)Support towards obtaining Alternative Certificate confirming achievement of foundation competencies, to aid those who want to access a recognised training position in the future" ALS, ATLS, CcRISP and TILS are all provided locally.
You will have a designated clinical supervisor during your appointment and opportunities for support by trained mentors.
Regular timetabled teaching sessions will take place to support the service-based learning.

Person Specification Qualifications and experience Essential Has achieved MBChB or equivalent medical qualification Satisfactory completion of Foundation post or equivalent Part 1 MRCOG European Advanced Life Support (ALS) Certificate Evidence of experience in a range of obstetric & gynaecological specialties, with experience of managing patients in emergency situations at ST3+ level Desirable 12 months continuous experience within the NHS Eligibility Essential Registered with and holds a licence to practice with the GMC Knowledge and skills Essential Ability to assess, recognise and initiate management of the acutely ill patient and play an effective part in advanced life support Detailed working knowledge of safeguarding agenda, and its relevant legislation, policy and guidance
