Windsor / Flexible UK Locations with FlexFirst hybrid working About your role: At British Gas, we are evolving our approach to digital product development, pivoting from a Programme/project model to a product model.
We are seeking an experienced Director of Digital Product Development to lead this transition and build our Product function across a diverse portfolio of products.
This role sits in our Field Services business of circa 11,000 employees called British Gas Services & Solutions which is led by our MD Jana Siber.
As a Director of Digital Product Product Development, you will work with our leadership team and technology leaders to align the efforts of product and engineering to the wider business strategy.
You'll drive development of a diverse portfolio of products for British Gas customers and internal users, working in partnership with the UK's largest service engineering team.
Your responsibilities will include: Define and own the product vision and strategy for British Gas, across all the services offered by the business.
Provide product leadership for a portfolio of existing products, developing strategies and roadmaps aligned to the overarching business strategy.
Identify new opportunities for British Gas to leverage digital capabilities to drive the business forward and support growth.
Define and build the Product Function and org structure, including product managers, design, research and analytics.
Define the tools, frameworks and methodologies to support an effective, consistent & coherent product discovery process.
Evolve the approach to strategic planning and governance, including business and product strategy development, goal setting, tracking progress and reporting.
Define collaborative cross-functional team structures to allow product teams to partner effectively with their business counterparts, reducing conflict and avoiding silos.
Here's what we're looking for: Proven experience of leading and setting up a Digital Product team in an enterprise organisation, or one of similar scale, with a mix of customers and end users including call centre agents and field engineers, as well as the back office support staff.
FS/banking/telecomms/media/utilities sector experience useful.
Previous experience of product management / CPO experience, working with a dev ops function.
Highly pragmatic, able to prioritise effectively and decisive in the face of ambiguity.
But you will be a strong coach and collaborative.
Possess the ability to develop and execute product strategies that drive innovation, growth, user engagement and business efficiency.
Proficient in using data to inform product decisions, measure performance, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Keep users and customers front of mind, representing them to the wider business and keeping their needs front of mind when developing product strategy and roadmaps.
