Job summary As a member of the CAMHS Specialist Trauma and Relational Therapies Team you will hold a caseload and undertake specialist evidence-based assessments and therapeutic interventions, for young people, their families/carers as part of the CAMHS STaRT Team in Portsmouth.
You will be expected to undertake direct therapeutic work with individuals, families/caregivers and with groups, that demonstrates a high level of skill in supporting the child/young person and their carers/families where severe, complex and often longstanding difficulties relating to trauma are present.
This role includes supporting the delivery of our training package, which includes the Trauma Informed Model of Care (TIMOC), Forming Good Attachments and Caring for the Traumatised Child Training, delivered to carers and the professional network.
Our service aims to provide Portsmouth children who are cared for evidence-based trauma therapies, with the aim of reducing the intensity and duration of the symptoms of trauma, whilst strengthening attachment relationships, along with several other evidence based mental health treatments.
Main duties of the job The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues from other services and agencies to promote joint working.You willActively participate in service evaluation, audit and outcome measurement to ensure that the team delivers high quality evidence-based interventions and will be expected to participate in regular clinical as well as line management supervision.Assess patients/clients, plan develop/implement/evaluate treatment programmes in partnership with the network around the child.Work in partnership with clients and carers to enable them to make informed choices about care and treatment.To be responsible for providing professional consultation to colleagues in social care, foster carers, other clinicians within CAMHS and other agencies/services in the city.Contribute to effective discharge planning and/or referral processes to health care providers and support agencies to meet identified health needs.Uses professional curiosity amongst colleagues to advance practice and patient/client care to ensure the provision of positive patient/client outcomes and person-centred care.Accurately document assessments of patients/clients' health status, diagnosis and response to interventions and treatments on the Trust Clinical Records System.Educate and provides information to patients/clients/family to improve their knowledge in supporting the recovery of trauma.To deliver and participate in training to the MDT and other agencies.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Registered social worker, nurse or equivalent.
Degree or equivalent level training relevant to Child and Adolescent Mental Health Desirable Teaching Qualification, ENB 998 or equivalent Practice assessor/supervisor.
Experience Essential Experienced in assessing and developing patient care plans.
Experienced in developing and delivering care and a range of therapeutic interventions to patients.
Experience of MDT working Evidence of recent CPD Desirable Experience of early developmental trauma, mental health assessments and implementation of care and treatment plans.
Experience of assessing and managing mental health issues in the context of trauma experiences.
Experience of teaching, training, and supervision/assessing junior staff and students
