Job summary We are looking to recruit a Data Administrator within Research and Innovation (R&I) at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) to support research across all MFT enthusiastic and self-motivated individual will support the research portfolio for the Adult Haematology Oncology team.This is your opportunity to be part of an engaging team with nationally and internationally recognised investigators who work in the forefront of cutting-edge research to develop diagnostics and treatments.We are a welcoming, friendly team with a long successful record of writing and conducting our own research and of conducting national and international studies.We invite you to join us.
Main duties of the job The successful candidate will be an exceptional communicator with effective organisation skills and be confident in managing a demanding and varied workload.
Excellent IT skills and the ability to work with several projects simultaneously are essential.The post holder will act as a point of contact for Adult Haematology Oncology research, working closely with the Trust Research Office, clinical colleagues, and service support departments within MFT along with external pharmaceutical companies.
They will ensure that comprehensive, high quality and efficient data entry and administrative processes are in place and followed for the set up and coordination of studies, ensuring full compliance with internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the regulatory framework in order to support the successful delivery of the research portfolio for this speciality.They should be educated to A level/NVQ Level 3 or have demonstrable experience.Line management experience would be desirable.The post holder will be required to work cross site across our research campuses.

Person Specification Education Essential Qualified to A Level/NVQ Level 3 standard or equivalent experience Desirable Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline Knowledge and Experience Essential Knowledge of the Data Protection Act Desirable Knowledge of health information management acquired through a relevant specialist qualification or equivalent experience of information handling and analysis gained in a work environment Knowledge of current national systems and structures for the approval, management and monitoring of clinical research in the NHS Knowledge of/ willingness to be trained in the use of Structured Query Language (SQL), SPSS and XML Knowledge of web-based applications Understanding of NHS business and administrative processes Understanding of NHS IT infrastructure, system requirements and quality standards Training and Experience Essential Experience of working on multiple parallel tasks to strict and often tight deadlines Experience of managing information systems, developing databases and spreadsheets Experience of analysing complex information from databases and generating reports Skills and Abilities Essential Numerate with advanced IT skills (MS Office - Access, Excel and PowerPoint Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with staff at all levels.
Able to handle sensitive and/or confidential information.
Able to transcribe data in a timely and consistently accurate manner with excellent attention to detail.
Able to work calmly under pressure in order to manage an unpredictable workload and perform to tight deadlines.
