Lead Hardware Engineer


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Hardware Engineer to join a leading company in Cambridge , specializing in industrial communication systems . The company develops advanced RF-based technologies using Bluetooth , LTE , and other wireless standards to deliver reliable solutions for various industrial applications, including smart manufacturing, IoT, and automation.


As the Lead Hardware Engineer, you will focus on the design and development of RF and wireless communication hardware for industrial devices. This includes working with RF circuits , Bluetooth modules , and LTE integration , ensuring that the systems deliver high performance in challenging industrial environments. You will oversee system-level hardware design , from PCB layout and prototyping to RF testing and validation , ensuring all hardware meets the rigorous demands of the industrial sector. This role requires collaboration across engineering teams and involvement in the full product lifecycle , from concept through to production.


The ideal Lead Hardware Engineer will have:

  • Expertise in RF circuit design with experience in Bluetooth and LTE technologies
  • Strong background in PCB design and RF testing
  • Experience in system-level hardware design for industrial communication systems
  • Leadership experience in managing hardware projects and mentoring junior engineers
  • Familiarity with industrial communication standards and applications is highly desirable
