We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Head of Events to lead our events and exhibition project management team whilst driving sales within the events sector in Ireland, UK and Europe. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for events management, who thrives in fast-paced environments, and who has a natural ability to lead teams and build strong client relationships. Key Responsibilities:

  • Take full ownership of events and exhibition projects, deal directly with event organisers, gather requirement and create a management plan for each event with a commitment to exceeding client expectations every step of the way.
  • Mentor, and manage a team of internal and outsourced, project managers and sales staff, cultivating a culture of excellence, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Serve as the primary client liaison, building trust and rapport, and ensuring their vision is brought to life while delivering exceptional service and maintaining clear communication throughout the project.
  • Create and manage comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets that ensure all elements of the event are delivered to a very high quality, on time and to budget.
  • Drive outbound sales by proactively seeking and seizing new business opportunities, leveraging your network, attending industry events, and engaging in targeted outreach to expand our client base.
  • Manage and monitor budgets with precision, ensuring every event is delivered on time and within financial parameters, while also maximizing profitability and resource efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external vendors, suppliers, and contractors, negotiating the best deals and ensuring quality services are provided to meet project requirements.
  • Collaborate with other teams, including designers, logistics, marketing, ensuring smooth coordination and delivery of every project detail.
  • Anticipate and address potential challenges and risks throughout the project lifecycle, employing proactive problem-solving skills to keep everything on track.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create buzz-worthy promotional strategies that boost event visibility and drive attendance, ensuring every project is a standout success.
  • Collaborate with event setup team, ensuring every detail is perfect, and troubleshooting any issues in a professional manner.
  • Conduct thorough post-event evaluations, gathering feedback, analysing successes, and identifying areas for improvement to drive continuous growth and excellence.
  • Provide insightful reports to senior management, highlighting sales performance, event outcomes, team achievements, and opportunities for further growth.


Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in events and exhibition project management, with a strong history of successful client management.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a talent for building and motivating high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional organisational abilities, with the agility to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
  • A natural communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Proactive sales mindset, with a proven ability to generate leads, secure new clients, and contribute to business growth.
  • Proficient in project management tools and software, such as Microsoft Office, Salesforce and Wrike
  • Creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to think on your feet and handle high-pressure situations with confidence.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to ensure every event is a resounding success.
