Overview:
Pertemps is offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated Senior Professional Complaints and Information - Children & Adult Services to join the expanding team at the London Borough of Harrow. This role offers a competitive pay rate of £28.29 - £30.14 PAYE per hour | £36.37 - £38.81 Umbrella per hour.

Main Responsibilities:
Day-to-day supervision, work allocation, and training of the Complaints and FOI team.
Management of the service across the Children and Adults divisions.
Managing the most sensitive complaints on behalf of the senior management teams for the respective divisions.
Responsibility for the day-to-day management of the External Investigating Officers (IO) and Independent Persons (IP) Pool for relevant statutory complaints.
Ensuring the staff in Adults & Children's Directorates comply with and implement the procedures in place for dealing with complaints, Councillor & MP enquiries, and FOI & DPA in line with Council and statutory requirements.
Writing scrutiny reports and presenting to committees for both Children's and Adults management teams.
To support the People's Directorate in the management of complaints and Freedom of Information for:
Service user and public complaints
Representations and mediation
Enquiries from elected members and MPs
Freedom of Information requests
Data Protection Act requests
Schools service level agreement
Local Government Ombudsman
Information Commissioners OfficeThe role covers the statutory complaints requirements in respect of the:
Care Act 2014
Local Authority Social Services and National Health Service Complaints (England) Regulations 2009
Children Act 1989
Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000
Care Standards Act 2000
Freedom of Information Act 2000
Data Protection Act 2018
Requirements:
A sound knowledge of Adult and Children's Social Care provision in an LA context and all relevant legislation.
Evidence of working at a middle management level within an LA context.
Considerable experience of dealing with the public and experience with senior figures in an organisation, in challenging situations and in a pressurised environment. Experience of working positively with politicians is beneficial.
