Deputy Alliance Director
£48,012 to £52,612
Glasgow or Edinburgh, Hybrid working
The In Care Survivors Alliance, established in 2016, is a partnership of four key organisations: Glasgow Psychological Trauma Service, Health in Mind, Penumbra Mental Health, and the Scottish Government. Funded by the Scottish Government, the alliance aims to provide support to survivors of in-care abuse in Scotland. Their services include psychological trauma care, mental health resources, and tailored support, helping survivors rebuild their lives with dignity and hope. The Alliance is dedicated to fostering resilience and well-being through collaboration and expertise.
The In Care Survivors Alliance supports individuals who experienced childhood abuse and neglect in the Scottish care system through two key services – Future Pathways and The Redress Support service. Future Pathways helps people achieve personal goals with tailored mental health support, access to services, and training opportunities. The Redress Support Service provides personalised, trauma-informed assistance to those applying to Scotland's Redress Scheme, including emotional support through a helpline.
The role
The In Care Survivors Alliance is looking for a Deputy Alliance Director to lead Future Pathways’ Support Coordination Team, who support individuals who suffered abuse or neglect in the Scottish care system. Based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow, the role involves managing support teams and driving innovative, evidence-led approaches to improve outcomes for survivors. This values-driven leader will work with the Scottish Government and partners to ensure tailored, relational support that fosters confidence, hope, and independence, while contributing to the service's legacy of transformative care across Scotland.
The person
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Health and Social Care, Social Work, or an equivalent qualification, though an SVQ Level 4 with relevant experience is also acceptable. They must have up-to-date knowledge of child and vulnerable adult protection and ideally have suicide prevention training (e.g., ASIST). This compassionate leader will have extensive experience working with individuals facing trauma, institutional care, and personal challenges, and will focus on empowerment, personal outcomes, and continuous improvement in line with statutory frameworks. They must demonstrate professionalism, resilience, and the ability to foster partnerships while driving service development and continuous improvement in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
You can contact Lauryn Pringle or Debbie Shields at Aspen People for a confidential discussion about the role at Aspen People.
Closing date for applications: Monday 4th November 2024
