This role is a unique opportunity to gain experience in education outreach within a vibrant academic environment.

As an Access and Outreach Intern, you’ll work closely with the Access Fellow and the Access and Outreach Manager to deliver impactful programmes such as residentials, workshops, and events aimed at supporting talented students from underrepresented backgrounds. This internship will allow you to develop skills in event coordination, stakeholder engagement, and programme delivery, with guidance and mentorship from experienced professionals.

About Access and Outreach

These initiatives include seminars, study days, and residential programmes, aimed at supporting talented students from underrepresented communities.

Additionally, Pembroke Scholars, launched in 2024, extends outreach opportunities to students requiring a different level of academic engagement. This programme includes essay competitions, workshops, and twilight talks.

The Role

* Coordinate the logistics of Access and Outreach activities, such as residential programmes, study days, and workshops.

* Monitor and ensure participant engagement during online and in-person events.

Communication and Stakeholder Engagement

* Act as a primary contact for all enquiries via the Access and Outreach inbox, ensuring timely responses.

* Draft and publish news, updates, and results through the Access and Outreach website, social media, and newsletters.

* Liaise with the College Communications team to promote Access and Outreach activities internally and externally.

* Deliver or assist with presentations to students, parents, and teachers.

Resource Development and Reporting

* Create informational resources such as posters and guides for Access and Outreach activities.

* Contribute to the evaluation of programme effectiveness and support the preparation of the Access and Outreach Annual Report.

* Maintain accurate records, including participant data, while adhering to safeguarding and data protection protocols.

Team Collaboration

* Support the Access Fellow and Access and Outreach Manager with ad hoc duties as required.

* Attend regional and national events to represent Pembroke College, including occasional travel to London, the North West, and North East.

* Participate in safeguarding training and ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and online platforms such as Zoom and Teams.

* A conscientious and proactive approach to problem-solving.

* Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive data.
